Good NIGHT Friday

A whirlwind of a photo week is has been. I did not have many chances to take pictures, but I've been able to go through some old pics on my computer, which has proved entertaining for me at least. A big thanks to our hostess for all the fun!

"School's Out" Party - August 2007. Morris' gold bling is awesome, and Adler could have been part of "Action Thursday", but the background is where to look. There is a fountain on the pond with a light under it. It's casting an awesome glow. I just wish I knew who the guy was that looks like he's on fire or in an Incubus video.

This is the Shamrock plant in our kitchen around 10 pm. The petals close as soon as the sun starts to set. They reopen with the sunrise. It was a fun surprise I discovered after getting the plant at a post St. Paddy's day clearance sale.

Action Stephen Jackson (Thursday)

I too am suffering from a photography block. But I am dedicated to the cause, so please indulge me.

Several layers of action going on here, Beyonce, if you can handle it, I don't think you can handle it. Now is the flag half empty or half full?
A little puppy dog about 20 weeks old playing with her treat ball for the first time. Photo circa February 2006.

Another Belated Day: Portrait (Wednesday)

Forgive my tardiness. It's one of those weeks. It's like there's a major life event in my forecast that keeps distracting me from the duties of photo week, which I hold so dear to my heart. I just can't place it . . .

Belated Macro Tuesday

I don't know if I "got" Macro right. There isn't a Macro setting on the new Nokia pocket camera I referenced earlier, so I whipped out the ol' Canon Rebel to follow our hostess with the mostest's guidelines. Still don't think I got it though!

Orchid on our fireplace. My green thumb is uncanny!

Can our elephants be friends, Steph?

Ruby dog

Steph - we were on the same wave, pointing our cameras toward the ceiling! This is the chandelier in our foyer. I don't like the picture, but when I saw Steph had posted one from her house, I thought I would do the same!

We're Back Bitches

Alas, another photo week begins. It's either the two cups of coffee racing through my system or the intense adrenaline excitement for this week's theme that has me all a flurry. I'm really eager to use the new camera we bought on Saturday for our upcoming trip to Europe. If you're in the market for new pocket camera, I'll be sure to keep you updated on how functional (or not) it is as the week progresses. Although, it better be on super, great functioning side . . .

VIVA LA PHOTO WEEK!
8:30 pm - I wasn't happy with the few pictures I was able to take tonight, so I pulled out some old ones that fit the theme.
What? It didn't snow in your neighborhood today? This is a shot from Winter 2007. Rob took eight photos and stitched them together with a program to create a sort-of-panoramic shot. The house on the far left is ours. The house on the far right is the house that is actually on our left. Get it? Sorry the image is so small.

This is the view from on top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Aug. 15. Central Park is the pillow of green between the skyline and the rooftop.

Color Week Concludes: Blue

I'm loving that it's Friday, but I'm slightly bummed that there are no more colors to capture. This has been a really fun week. Thanks to everyone for sharing. We're all slightly busy with life, work and of course our animal companions, but we proved a couple minutes a day of leisure activities makes for happier campers.
My favorites! And I got a lovely package with some more Envirosaxs from a certain Suelafa Scott. THANK YOU SUE!!

Couldn't resist taking a picture of the beautiful plates from Steph. The morning sunlight hit it just right.

More Ruby! Her favorite blue frisbee and more blue in her collar. She's supports our local teams.

A vase with marbles in our foyer. I'll always remember Amy's comment: "Everyone has that staple blue vase!"

Creepy? You bet. "Smile with your eyes," my Dad tried to tell us.

Color Week Day 4: Green

Did color week help the days go by faster for anyone else? Thursday already. I love it. Here are just a few green pics for now. I'm not all that elated with them, so I might try to get the camera out again tonight if time is on my side. Stay tuned if you're so inclined.

More 415 yard pictures! Here's a bud from a backyard hasta.

I don't know what kind of tree this is in our backyard (Red Oak in the background - I think this one is some kind of Dogwood), but I love the shape its leaves. I like how the this particular branch created an inverted pyramid of sorts. Anyone else see it?

Since Amy said it was okay to take some liberty with the color, I included this guy. He had a two minute staring contest with Ruby, which made me a bit nervous. Squirrels in this hood are known for un-shy antics. So I spooked him up the tree, to where he took this position for another good 45 seconds, giving us the evil eye. He won. I took Ruby inside.

Again, taking liberty with the color. It dawned on me that Ruby had yet to make an appearance in Color Week. Here she is destroying her new duck toy. Literally, this picture was taken two minutes after we gave it to her. The duck is doing well, although there's not much left of his insides.
